How to stay hydrated and healthy: a Mydrade review

By Amy Fraser

When it comes to hydration, health and wellness, Mydrade the sports supplement drink is a one-stop-shop for your nutritional needs.

Staying hydrated is essential for optimal health, wellbeing and exercise performance. It’s responsible for everything from organ function, energy and even stress levels. While we know how important staying hydrated is, it can often be difficult to monitor, particularly when you’ve been exercising or during extreme temperatures — including the winter months.

When we dehydrate, it's not just water we lose; along with our sweat goes a whole host of vitamins and minerals. It's essential we replace these nutrients, especially if we’ve been exercising for long periods of time. And that's where Mydrade comes in. Packed with all the nutrients your body and mind need to optimally function and flourish, it's the ideal supplement for exercise-goers, sun-seekers and winter adventures alike. But it’s not just a nutritional drink for our active-bunnies — you’ll be surprised how much you can dehydrate going about your day-to-day life. Taking Mydrade as a rehydration supplement can be extremely beneficial for your general health and wellness, supporting everything from your immune system to your skin and nails.

Here’s four reasons why I recommend using Mydrade:

Mydrade will support your exercise routine

As an endurance runner, I’m always on the lookout for good quality supplements that can help my body achieve whatever goal I’ve got in mind — whether a marathon, half marathon or triathlon — in the healthiest way possible. When it comes to supplements, there’s typically three key functions I look for: energy, rehydration and recovery. Luckily for me, Mydrade does all three.

One of the key nutrients the drink includes for exercise performance is magnesium. When it comes to energy, magnesium is the ultimate mineral. It’s responsible for more than 300 biochemical reactions including muscle and nerve function, protein synthesis and of course, the breaking down of glucose into energy. As you can imagine, it’s a handy mineral to top up on during a long workout or run. But it doesn’t just help during the workout; magnesium can support post-workout muscle soreness as well as flexibility, supporting your recovery and leaving you feeling a little lighter. And when I’m training for a marathon, that’s music to my ears!

It contains no added sugar and it tastes delicious

When it comes to supplements, a lot of drinks or gels often include high levels of sugar which may make them taste good, but if health is top of the agenda, they aren’t going to be your go-to product. What I love about Mydrade, is that there’s no added sugar and it still tastes delicious! The wild berry is naturally sweet and fruity but the lemon and lime has to be my favourite — it literally tastes like lemonade.

Not only is the low-sugar approach better for your body, but it’ll also make you feel great rather than the sugar highs and lows you’ll most likely encounter with sugar-filled supplements. It also means you can continue to use the product without worrying about additional calories consumed. Say goodbye to sugar crashes and cravings and hello to long-lasting energy.

It can improve your skin, hair and nails

Staying hydrating with water, minerals and vitamins will undoubtedly make you feel better, but what about your appearance? Just like other parts of the body, your skin, hair and nails can look and feel significantly better after using Mydrade. Many vitamins included in the drink contribute to this, particularly biotin, a vitamin that’s part of the vitamin B family.

You also may have heard of keratin (the main protein found in our hair, skin and nails). Well, biotin actually improves the infrastructure of keratin in your body, which can make your hair and nails stronger. While research isn’t completely clear why biotin improves skin, many people (including myself) have experienced clearer and healthier looking skin after taking this vitamin.

It enhances your immune system and overall health

If there's one thing we should all focus on, it's our immune system, and Mydrade can help. Packed with immune-boosting vitamins C, B and D, as well as folic acid and iron — they’ll be no need to line up vitamins pills in the morning any longer or worry that you’re not doing enough for your health. These nutrients can be found in foods, but many people struggle to eat a nutritional enough diet and this can lead to nutritional deficiencies. Moreover, it's not just about consuming the right nutrients, but consuming enough of them over time. Taking Mydrade will ensure you're always topped up with the right vitamins and minerals you need to feel good and function optimally consistently.

Takeaways

As you can see there’s a plethora of reasons why implementing Mydrade into your daily routine can be beneficial, and those are just a few! For exercise-goers like me, it’s almost a no-brainer. Running 35 kilometres (21.7 miles) a week means I’m losing an awful lot of water, vitamins and minerals, but taking this delicious drink means I don’t have to look any further. It removes the element of worry and allows me to focus on the rest of my training.

The same goes for those living in extreme temperatures, just like Australia. Mydrade is a product made by Australian’s for Australians and there’s a reason for that. If you’re not careful the hot weather can lead to dehydration. So whether you’re an active individual, deficient in particular minerals or just looking to enhance your overall health and wellbeing, this delicious drink might just be your answer.
